Focus group analysis

Analysis

Was the radio drama interesting and why?

The first as to why my radio drama was interesting, was because it was relatable to the audience as, some may feel that same pressure while playing sports or after playing sports. Another reason as to why my radio drama was interesting was because the narrative was simple and quite easy to follow for the audience so that they understood it quite well and got to grips with it. It is also relatable to the audience as cyberbullying is a growing issue within society, which isn't good, but this radio drama was made to create a sense of awareness about it, so that people can see how cyberbullying affects people.

Was the theme enticing?

The theme drew in the audience, they were really interested in what was going on within the radio drama, and how the theme was helping attract the audience. Another one of the feedback I got was that it was simple but it was effective, in the way to story was told. The feedback, could also understand how the radio drama can be appealing to the correct target audience. This also helps me understand that this theme is correct for the correct target audience. This radio drama fits the whole initiative that I wanted to create, to show awareness about bullying.

How was the character development of the main character "Joseph"?

The way the character is developed, to then overcome all the different challenges such as the cyberbullying. The audience feedback also finds it inspirational. It also sets an example to the younger audience on how they can respond to cyberbullying. But on the other hand, because "Joseph" is the only character really focused on he is the only one who has character development.

How did the audience find the narrative?

The narrative was clear to the audience and it was easy to understand and follow. This narrative also gives a message to the audience that they can understand. The understanding of the radio drama was tremendously helped by the narrator as he helped the audience follow the storyline. Linking back this radio drama is meant to be understanding towards the audience so it can help them in situations that "Joseph" went through.

Feedback?

There was a singular long pause that the audience feels like could be easily changed which means shorter cuts. Also there are some sounds that need to be smoothed out. And maybe add some effects during the dialogue so, for the audience it feels like they are following his life. All in all there are some minute things that I need to change within the radio drama and then it will be more appealable to the audience.
