Rationale

 Why I chose "Bucket"

The reason I have chosen to create the "Bucket" show out of all of the rest of my ideas, is because I think it was the easiest one for me to write about because I relate to it a lot and the story is basically fitted around my life if I was negative about my life and didn't take basketball seriously. It is also because there are a lot of wild tracks that I can use that have been uploaded onto YouTube which I can then download, but I can also create my own foley sounds. This is because in my school we have a sports hall, and we do have basketball games where there are crowds, and I can record different sounds in the sports hall even by myself and just a ball. Another reason as to why I chose this idea is because I will not be filming outside at all which means that wind and other sounds won't affect the recordings, which will be a lot easier to deal with in post-production.

SWOT Analysis of first draft

 SWOT Analysis

Strengths

The strengths of my first draft is that my radio drama has a relatable theme. The story touches on universal experiences, like pressure, failure, and bullying, all these experiences can happen to people all around the world. Which means that these listeners can all relate to it. Another strength is that the narratives dives into mental health, personal growth and support systems, making this radio drama impactful to the listeners. And another strength that character development is shown. And it is shown my his emotional journey that he takes through all the ups and downs he has.

Weaknesses

There are a few weaknesses within my first draft. One of them being pacing. Now pacing is a big one this is because the story may feel rushed as there are multiple key events that are happening and they are all crammed into one short time where it all has to fit in, which means that the listeners may not be able to fully enjoy the full episode. One other big weakness is the lack of transitions. Between the key moments, the bullying and the games and the conversation with the coach.

Opportunities

One opportunity that this radio drama has give me is the chance to give out this awareness campaign about bullying and who you can go to and talk to about these things. And also about mental health. Another opportunity is the amount of expansion this story can have. It has a lot of potential to create a series, which can then focus on different people such as the coach and his journey.

Threats

One threat that this radio drama are sensitive topics, which aren't always talked about but should be talked about because they are also serious. Because discussions about bullying and suicidal thoughts may require careful handling to avoid worsening the situation or upsetting the audience.
